This car is a rare find in the UK - a low mileage, rust-free E39 540i with exceptional service history and stunning bodywork. It was imported to the UK from Japan meaning it's very clean. After being imported by a specialist importer in 2016 with c. 34k miles on the clock, it was purchased by a BMW enthusiast who used it sparingly. I purchased it in Dec 2020 with 43k on the clock and has mainly been used as my weekend bit of joy. The underside is also rust free with a full cavity wax being carried out at least twice since it was imported - once by the previous owner and latterly by me in March 2023. The car is packed with extras, such as full electric windows, electric memory leather seats that are also heated, electric sunshade, LED halo sidelights and xenon headlights. The radio has been updated to UK spec and BMW Bluetooth has been fitted for both phone and music, making the car a practical daily driver. The car has been retained as stock as much as possible. The only major change is the rear box delete on the exhaust which unleashes the V8 sound without being too loud. Other changes from stock, such as the black kidney grille, the black and silver wheel paint and the M5 lower grille, can be easily reversed for any purists who want to return it to 100% stock. I have a ring binder full of service invoices, including those from Japan, which have been partly translated. Under my ownership, I have serviced the car every 6 months (despite my mechanic thinking I'm mad because the oil comes out as clean as it goes in!). This is an E39 enthusiast's dream. Clearly the M5 is the standout E39 but solid examples of those are much more expensive. This is the next best option and very hard to find in this condition. A real head turner everywhere it goes and a great conversation starter. It's brought me a lot of joy over the last four years, and I've looked after it like it's my baby (much to my wife's chagrin). Selling due to recent house move and renovation but will only sell at the right price otherwise I'll just keep hold of it as it still puts a smile on my face every time I take it out. As cars like this are a rare breed, I've priced it what I think it's worth but happy to have a conversation with and genuinely interested parties.
