Description
After 13 years of cherished ownership, I'm reluctantly parting with our black Lotus Elise S2 111S. For 10 years this was my daily driver, but as with most people, during the pandemic I began working from home and our Lotus doesn't get used as much as it used to. So it's time for it to move on to a new home where it will get the use a car like this deserves. For those in the know about Elises, this particular year and model is regarded by many as one of those holy grail Elises. The reason for this is that this is a 2004 car, which means it's one of the last to have the Rover VVC K Series engine with its 156bhp and is very light (0-60 in 5.4 seconds). It's easier to drive than the 111R, but still gives the same exhilarating driving experience. Combining this power-to-weight ratio with the fact that it doesn't have power steering or servo-assisted brakes, means it's essentially a road legal go-kart - a true driver's car. It also has the Touring Pack (central locking and electric windows), leather seats and it's in black. The perfect Lotus Elise! Steve Williams in Maidenhead (the Lotus Specialist) has maintained it over the years. To get the car as mechanically sound as possible, he's just replaced the suspension ball joints and fixed an oil leak. He also gave it a full big C service, meaning all the belts have been replaced along with the normal service items. It now runs and drives absolutely beautifully, like it has just come out of the factory in Hethel! The car is showing a few scars of it's 19 years, but this are mainly all now cosmetic and I leave it up to the new owner to decide if they want to pursue getting the car to mint condition, or if they are happy to leave these as they are and just enjoy driving one of the most fun and exciting cars on the planet. Please note that I have already taken all this into account and priced the car accordingly. Highlights: Rover K Series engine with 156bhp, in a car that weighs 800kg. Upgrades including light-weight Flywheel and clutch, ITG air filter and Janspeed exhaust (it's on the louder end of the scale), Land Rover head gasket (this sorts a known issue with these K Series engines blowing the original weak head gaskets), Touring Pack (electric windows and central locking), Leather seats and steering wheel. This is an appreciating car in terms of value. It's a great investment opportunity. Has just had an MOT in May 2024. Next MOT due 08/05/2025, Black, 4 owners, £17,500
