Long MOT until 15 October 2025. 2 female owners from new. Extremely rare 1999 1.8 5-speed Sport with Mazda factory-fitted body kit from new. Only 400 were made in red and 400 in blue. I believe the same model recently sold in the UK for 5,995. Far more rare than the 10-year Anniversary which produced 7,500 cars. Purchased from the original keeper in 2006, this is the 5 speed manual with leather interior, air con, ABS, electric windows, electric mirrors and Clarion multi-cd player. Approximately 5,500 GBP in servicing receipts in the 18 years of ownership. The current private registration A1 RGJ will be retained and the original plate restored. The roof is removable and the tonneau cover is unused. Original Mazda leatherette folder with manual and 2 keys. After 18 years of ownership the car is now for sale, as it is only driven once a week covering around 1000 miles per year for the past 7 years. Mechanically I can find no fault with the engine and gearbox and would have no hesitation driving any distance, as the car has been incredibly reliable. For a 25 year old car, there are some imperfections/faults: the driver's seat side bolster is worn, the air con pump no longer works, the radio faceplate can be temperamental, the interior wood effect has faded and cracked in places, the wing mirror lacquer is peeling, there is a tiny tear in the soft top (see photo), the paint on the sides and front needs a polish - it looks fine when the car is wet or as pictured, polished with WD40 (see last photos for unpolished fading). There is also corrosion to all 4 wheel arches (see photo). The hardtop (with working heated window) appears matt where the paint has faded. Presumably there are only a handful of these on the road, so if you are a MX-5 enthusiast and want to drive a model that most other owners have probably never even seen, please get in contact for any further information.
