Description
Unbelievably rare car with only 13500 miles from new! A complete time warp car, briefly: This is the regular wheelbase EXT (station wagon) model with rear wheel drive and the Vortec 5.3 engine, making it the most economical version of this car. The car is a complete time warp and in really great condition, it has a few very minor dents and scrapes from poor handling over the last 20 years but they're in the pictures and not hidden and not touched up so you can see the real car! Just sailed its MOT, I've had a very expensive new windscreen fitted. The car stands on American aftermarket wheels which have just been professionally repainted and fitted with new tyres but can also be supplied with 4 of its original chrome plated wheels if required, these are shown in one of the pictures..........and the long story......I was told (and have no reason to disbelieve this story) that the car was imported into the UK in 2005/6 but at the docks it wouldn't start. Whoever bought the car paid the VAT and Import duty (and I've had this confirmed by the transport unit that deal with these things)For whatever reason the buyer tried to get it running themselves and couldn't and eventually left it on their drive for 10 years or so. They then moved house and were told "get it fixed or flog it" and chose the flog it route to avoid a divorce....It was bought by a guy in Rotherham who had a Silverado and who tried to get it going and couldn't, so he kept it in his factory unit for another few years, eventually listing it on FB marketplace and a friend of mine, who loves American cars, bought it. We both like our classic cars and work on each others cars as a hobby. My pal called me about this and said, "here's the history, it cranks but wont start...can you take a look" I went over, checked all the usual fuel delivery, spark fault codes etc and it just wouldn't go. I noticed it had had new air meter, crank and cam sensor so realised someone had been here before. I really liked the car and on impulse i bought it off my pal. i borrowed a t2 scanner and someone who knew exactly what they were doing and they found the fault code for the immobiliser, which was odd as it wasn't immobilised....but he knew that could also be a deeper fault where to prevent theft if the ecu picks up over cranking it immobilised the engine at start hey presto.. a running driving escalade after only 20 years!. Next MOT due 04/09/2025, Silver, 1 owner, £13,500
