Description
I've owned this car since 2021 and am happy to say it's never skipped a beat. It was sourced by Will Blackham, trusted in the Lotus Community, and the previous owner was a former Lotus employee. If you're looking for a concourse car, this sadly isn't it. The paint work, other than the front clam which I had repainted in 2022, is showing its age in places and the car has covered 145,000 miles. If, however, you appreciate a high milage hero and you want a Lotus which has been loved, maintained regardless of cost and has had a full mechanical restoration then please keep reading because this car is unique and drives exactly like a Lotus should. There isn't room in the listing to detail all the work but I'll do my best to summarise it, including the 11k I've spent on it during my ownership. The mechanical restoration began in 2015 with a suspension overhaul - new bushes, bearings, bolts, S1 specific Billsteins and fresh powder coating. 2016 saw the fitting of a full alloy radiator, new heater matrix, as well as a new heater motor and new battery. The clutch and brake master cylinders were replaced along with the brake lines. In 2019 the engine was rebuilt and upgraded with the 135 Sport package and a twin layer head gasket. I personally think this gives the car so much more personality and combined with the Bell & Colvill Sports Exhaust sounds fantastic! The clutch was replaced with an AP racing system, reinforced gearbox bearings, the starter motor was reconditioned, new throttle cable and braided clutch hoses were added, and a slew of coolant hoses and wiring were also replaced. The clam supports were replaced and the rear subframe and floor was coated for anti-corrosion protection too. I have had an interior refit courtesy of Allon White, along with a Momo steering-wheel and new stalks and button surrounds. New headlights and grilles have been fitted and the wheels were refurbished with new centre caps and fresh tyres. New brake discs and pads all round, further gearbox work, new steering rack, CV joints, water pump and a load of new gaskets, nuts and bolts have been refreshed too. Numerous services, including a full C service this Summer. The new owner will also benefit from 12 months MOT, and new anti-roll bars, both of which are being carried out on Dec 17th so you can trust that this car is ready to be driven! PJS sports cars look after the car and will happily vouch for it. 2 Keys, FSH, please ask me for more details and pictures of this epic car!. Next MOT due 20/12/2024, Full service history, Blue, 5+ owners, £13,000
