Description

Oil and oil filter every 1,500 miles (using Millers or Fuchs 10w40 semi synthetic)- Air filter replaced with a K&N panel filter- Differential oil replaced circa 97k miles (Motul 90 PA).- Coolant replaced (Mazda FL22)- Spark plugs replaced at 97k miles with NGK RE7C-L's and RE9B-T's- Cabin filter replaced annually- Front brake hoses replaced (Wezmoto)- Brake fluid flushed- OSR droplink replaced (NSR had already been replaced before my ownership)- 'Xenon' sidelight, reverse, and number plate bulbs fitted- Front and rear brake pads replaced (Mintex)- Nearside oil cooler lines replaced (OEM)- Ignition coils and leads replaced circa 97k miles (Hitachi coils and Magnecor leads)- 1x front caliper rebuilt, others with new slide pins- Upper and lower gear gaiters replaced- Varta N72 battery fitted circa 97k miles- New OEM wheel nuts fitted- PZ spoiler badges replaced- Bosch aerotwin wiper blades fitted- AC regassed - August 2021- New tailgate gas struts fitted (Magneti Marelli)- Passenger dashboard cover replaced (2022)- Krown rust treatment carried out (2022/2023)- OSR brake pipe repaired- OSR sill welded- Aux belt replaced- AC idler replaced- Auxmod fitted - 2023- Thermostat replaced (OEM) - 2024- Gearbox replaced - 2024Modifications:- Braided brake hoses- Auxmod- Xenon style bulbs- Painted brake calipers- Carbon wrapped side strakes- Bonnet gas struts- Drilled and grooved discs (believed to be MTEC)Good points:- No issues starting hot or cold (compression was tested at 97k with 5.6, 5.6 and 5.3 Bar on the front rotor and 5.2, 5.4 and 5.2 on the rear rotor)- Advisory free MOT until June- HPI clear- Tyres have very good tread all round- Premixed during my ownership using 120ml JASO FD spec oil along with high octane fuels (Shell V Power and Tesco Momentum)- Original cat still fitted- Mazda service history up until 87k miles- All desirable PZ parts present (wheels, grilles, exhaust etc)- No outstanding recallsBad points:- Engine mounts could do with being replaced- AC belt starting to fray- Despite the gearbox having been replaced it does crunch in 4th when its warm, I think it could do with another oil change from where it had sat for years and I'd also expect new engine mounts to help- PZ backbox needs welding (centre section and 1x tip - I still have this to go back on)- Exhaust shrouds have seen better days.
