Description
1995 Range Rover 3.9 Vogue in white with grey cloth interior.
First registered on 19th September 1995, this is one of the last of the Range Rover Classics with an interesting number plate - N899 LEW
It started its life working for Cambridgeshire Police and appears in The Police Range Rover Handbook where it is described as "The last Cambridgeshire Range Rover". It has a Land Rover special vehicle vin plate.
After retirement this vehicle was owned by Hertfordshire Land Rover specialists, Alymer motors for a number of years before being sold to an enthusiast in Hitchin in 2007, he owned it for 11 years until it was bought by the last owner in 2018. He then sent it to renowned Range Rover specialists Twenty-Ten Engineering for some restoration work. The final bill was 4,700 with the invoice in the history file.
The owner went on to spend a further 8,000 plus during the following 6 years, all backed up with a bundle of invoices.
The mileage is now showing 189,249 but in 2006 at 146,000 the engine was replaced by Alymer motors.
Basically, throughout this vehicles life, what ever needed doing to keep it in top running condition has been done.
The underside was steam cleaned and rust proofed with Dinitrol in 2021.
The paintwork isn't bad at all having been resprayed at some point.
I have spare keys and a copy of The Police Range Rover Handbook.
The car drives superbly well with slick gear changes over five gears with the powerful V8 engine. Being police specification it runs on steel springs rather than the troublesome air suspension.
I have replaced all of the front lights, fogs, indicators for a fresh sharp look and fitted new front springs as was necessary.
The MOT runs through to 02.10.2025.
I had planned on keeping this vehicle with a view to carrying out a couple of aesthetic improvements to the interior but unfortunately circumstances no longer permit.
I am keen to move this on to a fellow enthusiast, this is my 7th classic and it's a real beauty....
