Description
Stuttgart-built 986 Boxster, 2.5 engine with 5-speed manual gearbox, ~90,560 miles (3500 per year) and full service history throughout its 26 years, in Zenith blue metallic, with wingback sport seats and extended leather. I owned this Porsche for two years and invested approx. 3k in preventative maintenance, with a view to keep it. Forced to sell and hoping it finds a passionate owner to cherish it.
The bad bits:
- AC does not work, identified as condensers,
- Central locking works, but not remotely,
- Front wheel arches have rusty edges from stone chips, see pictures.
The good things:
- Drives exceptionally well, with a comprehensive folder and service history going back to new, cherished until 2014 when taken off the road for 7 years, hence the low mileage and wonderful condition, with little use afterwards, and well loved over the last two years under my ownership. Porsche forum member and enthusiast, I used it mostly for car meets and holidays in Europe,
- The engine sounds superb and the cable throttle offers instant response, the dual row IMS is trouble-free and the RMS has been last replaced in 2013, bone dry underneath,
- Loves Millers 5w-40 CFS NT+, has had three oil changes over the last 6k miles and does not burn oil,
- Cam deviation in spec at 3 degrees,
- Roof and rear screen in great condition with no leaks,
- Always garaged and now covered,
- Undersealed in 2012, and still looks great underneath,
- Minimal stone chips and no dings,
- GT3 console delete, and the cubby is available,
- Bluetooth retrofitted to OEM stereo,
- CarVertical report available and all clear.
Dec '24, at Torque Boxsters:
- Gearbox oil changed,
- New front suspension arms and tie rods (inner and outer), Spyder Performance parts,
- New 4x ARB bushes,
- New 4x drop-links,
- Hunter 4x alignment done at Protyre Chesham,
May '24, at AMS Porsche:
- 1x New OEM Bilstein shock, top mount and bump stop, to match the other three, which look like new,
- New exhaust clamps, brackets, gasket and fixings,
- New coil packs, spark plugs and tubes.
