Description

Our 2011 VW California SE 180 with just under 53k miles - pre Adblue (huge selling point for us due to the issues the comes with having adblue) All the usual SE extras (later named the Ocean) and the following extras: Built in safe within the wardrobe Second leisure battery (one under passenger seat and one under the rear wardrobe) giving more time off grid 180 bhp model, offering a smoother driving experience Full bicycle rack on the rear with key locks The camper has also had a new factory 3 window pop top canvas installed as is popular to do, offering an incredible improvement over the original pop top canvas During our ownership, we've added some useful upgrades including: - Factory VW head-unit with CarPlay and Android Auto as well as Bluetooth and radio functionality. Shows parking sensors and distance too. - T5 Cuppy - a dash mount drinks holder to allow for drinks of different sizes from 1L bottles down to small takeaway drinks. Probably the single most useful thing you can do with these, as the standard cup holders are incredibly poorly placed and hard to use whilst driving (spring release). - Slide out shelves (from Ocean model) in the rear kitchen window blind as this is useful storage (Original kept). - Replaced steel spare wheel with matching alloy (still have steel wheel) - safer if used far from home Low mileage and well looked after, serviced every few thousand miles roughly and well maintained throughout. Cam-belt and water pump done within the last 3 years and alternator replaced last year. Battery optimiser showed wear from the main battery, replaced with a Bosch S5 with 5 year warranty as it's safer than it failing whilst on holiday! Booked in for service and MOT so fresh MOT and service will be provided. EGR valve replacement 3 years ago with the latest "D" gen (a common concern is that the original ones failed & led to excessive oil use, so preventative maintenance was safer). We've loved it and would recommend anyone who's interested in getting one to take a look. We are now at a tricky age with a 3 year old where we think having a toilet is useful, so we're looking to size up for a few years and then will come back to one of these later down the line. We have also removed the bendy light for the upstairs bed as it gets in the way, it's known for failing and isn't LED so consumes a lot of power - I can re-fit it if wanted, but I have it stored safely either way. Some people install a USB socket instead.
