I've had the Smart for three years for commuting to a part time job. Retired now, so no longer needed, too many cars. This is the 1.0L Turbo with the 3 cylinder Mitsubishi engine, which research told me was the one to buy, rather than the potentially troublesome MHD. Despite Mercedes saying the cam chain is good for life, my specialist recommended replacement at 75K, which was done along with replacing radiator, hoses, fan, water pump and air con lines.( while engine out) Of course with the engine out, gaskets/plugs/filters all done at the same time, so no oil leaks now. It cost me nearly 2k for all that -so good for the buyer! Generally decent condition for a 15 year old (2010) car. Just put a new battery in the Pioneer radio, all works, Bluetooth connects fine for music and calls, even the satnav, but not used due to age. Bodywork good, few blemishes and fibreglass stress cracks - but you have to look for them, nothing major. Convertible hood is watertight, no leaks at all, hood has been cleaned and proofed in the last 12 months. The only bad points are the tyres will probably need changing at next years service/MOT, (reflected in asking price) and despite everything to do with heating and cooling being replaced, it's still not great at either, but it was like that when I bought it with Warranty, I think it's just typical of these cars. It does get warm enough in winter, and electric hood down in summer, so no real issues, but better to be clear and accurate. I'm pretty sure everything else works as it should.
