Japanese built in Aug 1979 and first sold in Mar 1980, there have only been 4 owners. Imported to the UK by the 3rd owner in 2001. As a 1979 vehicle, this FJ40 features the solid, reliable and quiet 4.2L 2F petrol engine, mated to a 3-speed manual gearbox. It runs in either 2 or 4-wheel drive and high or low gearing. The restoration has had a focus on originality, it is a fully matching numbers example and included in the docs is the original Indonesian logbook, as well as all parts and service invoices and docs relating to its import. This FJ40 has Toyota power steering and a Toyota front heater. It originally came to the UK with a massive air-conditioning unit, this was removed by the current owner. All window rubbers and door shut rubbers has been replaced as well as the front windscreen. Additionally fitted are a Kenlowe fan, a Classic looking radio, featuring DAB/FM, USB, Bluetooth, handsfree and Aux input, as well as a period dash mounted wiper delay and recent mobile phone mount. In 2020 a full bare metal re-spray was carried out in the same original colour by one of the best outfits in the South East. After. All exterior bolts were replaced with new, galvanised parts. Full height ambulance doors are fitted. The aftermarket steel cream wheels are front locking and the same colour as the roof. They are fitted with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tyres and matching rear-mounted spare. The originals, with deep tread Goodyear off-road tyres are also included. Toyota front and rear mats are fitted in the well maintained interior, all seats have been refurbed, the front seats flip down and the rear seats fold up for loads. There no rust whatsoever on this stunning FJ40 and the engine bay has been recently detailed to remove any grime, it was completed sympathetically to retain patina, age related to the vehicle.
