Description
A very good example of the E Class wagon. Well below average mileage with history and receipts from Mercedes, specialists and local garages.
The bodywork and interior are in great condition with just a single barely visible parking dent on the driver's door (see photo) and the usual stone chips you'd expect. I've had the rear bumper painted and the alloys refurbished in my ownership though the front wheels could do with a touch up again now. The driver's seat bolster is slightly cracked on the seam but has not got any worse in my ownership.
It will need the front brake pads changed soon (message on start up came up two weeks ago) and the engine management light has come on in the last couple of months which I've had diagnosed as a transmission fault code & been quoted five hundred pounds to repair at The Automatic Gearbox Centre in Hove. A sticky solenoid apparently. The only symptom this seems to cause is holding on to a gear slightly too long on kick down. The car is still a pleasure to drive and runs very well.
It's got four new tyres and had a full service in March. It's had a brand new battery from Mercedes in the last two years and the brake lines have all been done as have the coolant pipes, again in the last two years. And with original Mercedes parts. I'm told both these jobs are common to these cars and no fun to do!
The only reason we're selling is because we've replaced it with a newer version of the same model as I need something ULEZ friendly at the moment. Were it not for that, I'd get the relatively minor work done and keep it. The car's been nothing but reliable, has a lot of life left and looks great. It got us to Rome and back via Lake Como and Modena over several mountain passes very comfortably in 2023 and I'd happily jump in it tomorrow and do the same.
Comes with both working keys and an unused First Aid Kit!
