Description
Caterham 7 Supersport, S3 Chassis, 14,000 miles
Painted in Porsche Riviera Blue, I've owned and enjoyed the car for the last 4 years, and I've decided it's time to let someone else enjoy it and for me to try something new. Purchased in May 2021, I've enjoyed using it both on the road and at some track days.
Full Specification includes:
- 1.6 Rover K Series, VVC Head, Piper BP285H Camshafts (160 BHP)
- Ford Type 9 5 Speed Gearbox
- LSD
- Wide Track Front End
- Bilstein Height Adjustable Dampers
- Lowered Driver's Floor
- Tillet Seats
- Full Roll Cage - Academy Specification
- Quick Release Steering Wheel
- 6J Fronts, 8J Rears with Nankang AR1 Tyres
- Mintex M1144 Brake Pads
- Plumbed in Fire Suppression
In my ownership, I've made a few changes and upgrades including but not limited to:
- Replacing the scuttle panel and installing quick change brackets to allow the fitment of a windscreen and the more passenger friendly full width aero screen (Spring 2022)
- Corner weight and geo at String Theory Garage in Stratford Upon Avon (June 2022)
- Changing from Supersport spec (~140BHP) by replacing the standard K16 head with a VVC head. The head is lightly ported with Paul Ivey Valves, and Piper BP285H Cams. The vehicle was then mapped by K Maps and is now making 160 BHP (Winter 2025)
It's also been regularly serviced, and has had a number of other parts to keep it well maintained including an upgraded Wasp starter motor, fitting the later style rear wheel bearings, a new front hub to correct a spun bearing race, various suspension bushes, engine mounts, coil packs, coolant hoses etc. I also have some paperwork to show that it's previously had the more durable R400 specification pistons at standard compression to improve the engine durability.
Vehicle has a fresh 12 Months MOT, so it's ready to be enjoyed on the road or at the track.
