Description
A cracking roadster that commands attention wherever it goes. Has been shown from Orkney to Moffat with praise and interest, even when just sitting in the car park.
The car was rebuilt by a local garage owner as a personal project. As can be seen from the MOT history, he did not have the time to get the benefit from his work and he sold the car to me. I have effectively carried out the shakedown runs and all is good so far.
The engine is a 3.9 V8 taken from a Range Rover. It had done around 63k miles when transferred so about 65K mile at the moment. The oil is clear and the engine runs sweetly. It is fuelled through an Edelbrock carburetor and has electronic ignition. Waterless coolant is used with an up-sized aluminium radiator with twin elecric fans. The exhaust is stainless steel, including the manifolds.
The engine is mated to an LT77 (5 speed) gear box which is smooth and precise. It has an up-rated propshaft and and attaches to an uprated rear axle and differential purchased from MGB Hive at the time of the build. There are larger drum brakes and telescopic dampers with stronger leaf spring suspension at the rear and SD1 discs and calipers at the front with uprated lever arm dampers. The car sits on larger 15" Minator wheels and a good set of tyres.
The roof and frame are in great condition as are the seats and carpets. There is a muti disc CD exchanger in the unlikely event that the engine and exhaust notes are the wrong type of "music"
