A very honest and well sorted example of an early Porsche Boxster 2.7 (986), 78,500 miles, 5 speed manual, finished in silver with blue interior. Early cars benefit from the stronger dual row IMS bearing, which I visually confirmed while replacing the RMS and release bearing. The clutch was inspected at the same time and has plenty of life remaining (approx. 6-7mm). Good history: Porsche main dealer servicing to 2011, then maintained by independents with supporting receipts. Recent maintenance includes full service, brake lines, discs and pads with minimal mileage since. Recently treated as a small winter project after I purchased the car last year, I have carefully gone through it with time and attention. Work includes: - AC system overhaul (new hard line and condensers, freshly re-gassed - blows cold) - RMS and release bearing - Full ignition refresh (coil packs, spark plugs and tubes) - AOS replacement with intake system cleaned - Oil filler pipes replaced (fixing common vacuum issue) - PCV system cleaned and checked In addition, a number of functional items were sorted (roof mechanism repair and alignment, door lock, trim fixes etc.), resulting in a car where everything works and presents as it should. The roof, replaced by a previous owner, is in excellent condition with no leaks and an upgraded glass rear window. Suspension feels tight with no knocks (coffin arms replaced previously). Tyres and brakes are in good condition. Bodywork is very good for age with only minor marks and light stone chipping. There is a small crease in the rear bumper (cosmetic only, no underlying damage). A couple of alloys have minor kerbing. Interior presents very well with no excessive wear. Engine is smooth, pulls strongly and the gearbox is precise. Nice exhaust note when pushed but refined when cruising. 2 keys included. I have enjoyed working on this Boxster. I had originally intended to keep the car but am focusing on another project that I plan to keep for this summer. Starts, runs and drives exactly as it should, with no known faults and no warning lights. A well sorted and usable example that's ready to be enjoyed straight away.
