Description

Low mileage/Great condition. Cams, bearings, lifters and mechanical pumps replaced. Upgraded turbos. Brakes and tyres near new. Wheels refurbished. The Phaeton V10 is what happens when you cross a freight train with a cruise ship. It was designed to out-do the S class in retaliation for Mercedes stepping in on VW's turf with the A class and I believe they succeeded. You have to ride in a Phaeton to understand just how quiet and comforable it is. You would probably need to look at a Rolls to find better. The entire car is engineered under the skin to be the nicest possible place, from the draftless, quad zone air conditioning to electric, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, this low milage example retains every bit of it's understated class with an almost immaculate interior. Backing up the quality of the interior is a beast of an engine. The 5 litre V10 TDI. This example has received upgraded turbos from Turbo Dynamics as well as a remap. Turbo Dynamics state they are good for 420BHP, so I believe 400BHP is a safe estimate, it's far quicker than you would believe. The cams, lifters, cam bearings etc were all done in the last 3k miles as well as both mechanical fuel pumps on the back of the engine. Between these and the turbos, this represents all of the main common issues. The intake manifold was also cleaned at this time along with a liquimoly diesel injector purge. Since then, the car has been run on Millers Nanodrive oil (that meets the correct VW spec) as well as liquimoly ceratec. A diesel addative has also been used at every fillup. There's no DPF filter to worry about on these cars. The exterior is good but there are some marks, though I haven't found any dents. The wheels were recently refurbished/powdercoated and the brakes/tyres under them both have good life left. The suspension works perfectly and does not sink when parked. The only issue I've found is the Tiptronic. The shifter uses magnets which can fall out and I believe that has happened here. The gearbox is absolutely fine but there's currently no tiptronic. I have various pieces of spare interior trim, audio parts etc as I buy them up for spares. Also included is a rear passenger climate control panel. The car flew through it's last MOT, valid until 01/06/2024. I'll be sad to see this car go but I just have more cars than I can look after. These are rare cars and to find one this nice with upgrades and all the important mechanical work done is even rarer. Next MOT due 01/06/2024, Silver, 4 owners, £7,999
