With a heavy heart, my beloved SL500 is looking for a new home. R230, last of the classic Mercs, a definite modern classic, ready to go for spring. In unmodified original condition, Diamond Silver (has a blue tinge in certain light, like BMW Silverstone II), grey leather interior. Makes me smile every time, the noise and effortless performance of that lazy V8 and the incredible ride and handling of the ABC suspension make for a great driving experience. Turns heads, gets questions, built like they used to! Have quite a few bills going back through the history, has been well maintained. MOT until March 2024. ABC suspension system in good shape, has just had a new pump, accumulators and pulsation damper so good for the next 20 years! Boot seals don't leak, nice and dry. Roof operates flawlessly, seals lubricated. Plenty of tread on tyres. Since I've owned it, it's also had an ABC hose and an auxillary water pump, both at specialist Wayne Gates in Harrow. I know everyone raves about their own cars but this is a really special example and feels like it came out of the factory last month. No test pilots, group visits, silly offers.
