Landrover Series 2 1959, SWB.She was built on 10th November 1959, and Dispatched on 12thNovember 1959 to Lee Motor Works Ltd, Dorchester, Dorset.Series 2's were only produced from 1958 - 1961.British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, obtained by me in 2017 included.2019:200tdi engine fitted and mated to the Series 2 gearbox. This was professionally fitted in 2019 by a local Landrover specialist. Cam belt done at same time and 300 tdi turbo professionally fitted with the engine change.New clutch fitted when the engine was changed. She runs beautifully, pulls like a steam train.Overdrive, in full working order, no whining or rattles.The front axle has been completely stripped down and rebuilt; new bearings, oil seals, swivels, track rod, track rod ends, everything.New universal joints on both prop shafts.Diffs have been replaced by Discovery 1 diffs to make it more user friendly. Original diffs included in the sale.2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive, high and low box work perfectly.The odometer is a newly refurbished item fitted last year as the old one was damaged when I bought it, but the speedo cable also needs replacing (new one supplied in the sale, never got round to it) so it reads 00000 at the moment. The old one can be included in the sale if you want it. It had around 65K on it.Rot free upper and lower doors.Newly refurbished main light switch (these are a great quality item refurb), and new ignition barrel fitted.It has had new brake pads, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings and seals on all 4 corners.New bench seats and 4 lap belts in the rear. Front seat belts 2 x 3 point and middle is lap belt. New high level seat belt mount.It has 7.50 x 16 tyres with loads of (10mm+) tread, including the spare mounted in the rear tub.The footwells have been welded in the past by the previous owners but are solid, see photos. It's got a solid bulkhead but there is evidence of repairs. Gert comes with a pair of thick rubber, Series specific mats fitted.Handbrake lock fitted for security. I'll throw in the padlock and keys.New standard rear springs and bushes, and 4 x shock absorbers fitted about 3 years ago.
