Description

If you're happy with the miles & don't mind the fact it has the standard RS4 Recaros rather than the ultra-huggy wingbacks (I wanted them, wife didn't, but when RS4 shopping a little over 8 years ago, I looked at 5 cars. 4 had Wingbacks, 1 had Recaros. The one with the Recaros was in easily the best condition so I went condition over seats and bought it). 2 of them, on garage forecourts, were awful condition!), I honestly don't think you'll find a better B7 RS4 Avant. You'll know if you want saloon or Avant. I didn't care, I looked at 3 saloons and two Avants. If you're really chucking it about, the saloon is a bit better. Stiffer shell, 60kg lighter, and if you get the wingbacks you can really chuck them about but you'll end driving like a total d**k BMW driver and with the power available, will probably end up with points. Maybe many points. In hindsight, I know that's how it would be for me! With the Avant on Recaros, you sit a bit higher, dial it down a couple of notches but you have a more comfortable long distance car. And of course a much more useable boot. I'm just trying to explain the differences in case you're unsure of exactly what you want from your RS4. I've owned the car just over 8 years. I'm not even certain I want to sell it but it's not getting used much these days. While I adore it and hugely admire it, I've got a couple of even more sporty cars to really throw about when I'm in the mood and fancy some back road action (i.e. a DC2 Honda Integra Type R) and I have a Tesla Model 3 Performance that has mostly taken over the RS4 as my daily driver. Obviously it doesn't have the character, heart & soul of the RS4 (or the boot) but it suits my needs better. I've been agonising for the last year over whether to sell it as it's not needed it or keep it because it's the best car I've had (had a 911 & an NSX; RS4 Avant = best all-rounder). Decided to put it up for sale & see what happens. Sells, I'll say bye & accept it (prob. call the buyer in 3 months & ask if he wants to sell it back). Doesn't sell, I'll resolve to drive it more and enjoy a brilliant car which straddles the line between classic and modern to perfection! Car has been machine polished, ceramic coated, valeted, has two new tyres on one axle (Goodyear Asymmetric 7) and 2 nearly new 1000 mile old tyres on the other (Conti 6). New front & rear brake discs & pads, MOT Feb. 25, fresh service inc top oil, oil & air filter. Clutch & gearbox sweet as a nut! So much more to say...no! Next MOT due 19/02/2025, Black, 5+ owners, £17,795
