I bought the car as a barn find in 1988 and dry stored it for the next 25 or so years, working on it when money and time allowed. The restoration was completed in 2013. The body was stripped back to bare metal and sandblasted panels were repaired or replaced as required.The engine was re-built by Motobuild in 2011 and the car and engine have completed less than 1,400 dry miles and it has been garaged throughout and therefore it is still in lovely condition. The car had all new interior including leather seats, leather door/cockpit rails and a new full carpet set. New discs & callipers, copper brake pipes, slave and master cylinders. Rebuilt close ratio gearbox which came from Vic Ellis. New Hood and early leather covered side screens. Stainless steel exhaust New radiator, wiring loom, petrol tank, petrol pump and fuel lines.12-volt conversion. All the brightwork was re-chromed or replaced. Although the car is a 1600 it has been loosely styled on the Mille Miglia works rally car MBL867 with bumpers removed and a single spot lamp in the grill, it has a handmade aluminium front valance and 4-point harness seatbelts.
