Description

This is a 1960 Series 2 88" Hard Top Station Wagon (not the more common Series 2a) with incredible provenance, having had 1 owner from new until 2020 when it was acquired by its current owner who commenced a 4 year extensive and no expense spared restoration costing in excess of GBP40,000, and taking over 1000 man hours. The vehicle has covered just 96 miles since the completion of its restoration in January 2024. AVP 167 has been affectionally named "Ollie", after Land Rover enthusiast Oliver Turner of Oxfordshire, who completed a no expense spared painstaking full restoration from August 2021 - February 2024. Ollie was first delivered to Mr John David Large aged 37 years old, of Pye Green, Cannock on 19 August 1960. Mr Large used the vehicle and completed a remarkable 191,900 miles, until it was placed into dry storage in 1986, where it remained until it was purchased by the current owner in 2020, from Mr Large's estate, who had died aged 96. The current owner, from York, England, fell in love with story and purchased Ollie on Ebay from his sofa whilst living in Hong Kong. He then entrusted a no expense spared restoration to a Land Rover enthusiast who commenced what can only be described as one of the most comprehensive restorations likely to ever have been undertaken. Ollie comes with an extensive history file, containing every original MOT certificate and MOT check list until 1986, when Ollie was taken off the road, Insurance certificates dating back to the 1980s, Extensive service and maintenance receipts throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Original buff log book showing Mr John David Large as the only owner and a current V5C showing the current owner plus one previous owner, being Mr John David Large, Original owners manual along with other manuals and maintenance documentation. This Google file contains details of the restoration, the vehicle history and more photos: Full service history, Green, 1 owner, £40,000
