Description
This vehicle has been specially adapted to seat a wheelchair either in the main cabin as the middle row of seats have been removed, or the front passenger seat which can be removed so the wheelchair user can park there. Both areas have the docking grooves to properly lock the wheelchair into position with the racket straps and place the seat belt holder into position for safe transport. The vehicle has powered side doors. When a separate battery is switched on under the steering wheel, the side ramp from the near-side side door can be deployed with a switch. This vehicle was initially adapted for a driver who was a wheelchair user. This means that the van is automatic, and that the handbrake and gear box selector is situated higher up on the dash board than in usual automatic vehicles. The vehicle condition is good as any work that was required has been carried out with welding recently done for the last MOT (valid until May 2025). Electrical work was also carried out in January 2024 at a specialised auto-electrical garage to change batteries and fix a wiring issue now resolved. The body work has some minor scratches on, but are superficial. The Grand Voyager model has great features for long drives (although the mileage for the vehicle's age, shows this vehicle has not been used for that purpose) which include arm rests, powered seat adjustment control for the drivers seat, a spacious boot, dim-able cabin and dashboard lights, every windscreen wiper speed possible for every time of rain as well as your run of the mill parking sensors, alarms and electric windows with driver controls. This vehicle is not much bigger than a large car, but is very spacious inside, ideal for tilt-in space wheelchairs where rest and sleep is frequently needed. Our favourite feature regarding the wheelchair adaption is that the wheelchair user has so much choice over where they sit and are very much in the cabin with everyone on the journey, and not parked in the boot as found with rear entry adaptions. The side ramp avoids the ramp being blocked by inconsiderate drivers that might park too close to the back. As long as you have pavement or space via a blue badge bay, you have no problem accessing the vehicle with the side ramp. The darkened windows at side and back also mean you have much privacy in the vehicle, especially if you block the view from the front windows. This means we were able to use the cabin as a changing space making journeys stress free. Next MOT due 29/04/2025, Part service history, Grey, 4 owners, £9,500
