It is with great reluctance that I'm selling this excellent example of the iconic Accord Type R. I would love to keep it in storage for the next ten years as the price of these vehicles has continued to climb, however, with kids and new houses I have to put it up for sale. Comes with every receipt since new (including previous owners who were both car enthusiasts who maintained the car impeccably) and a full service history. I have been the owner for over 15 years and as any Type R driver will know, they are excellent pieces of engineering. Honda spent so much effort when designing these cars , stripping weight where ever they could, equipping it a double over head cam, limited slip differential and double wishbone suspension. The engines were hand built in the UK prior to going to Japan for hand porting and polishing and it's for these 'type' of reasons it became a cult classic. The vehicle will be sold with a almost brand new twin layer cover waterproof but breathable with a soft non scratch inside, which was hand made to exact dimensions of this car so fits snugly around rear spoiler and wing mirrors, this is not some Halfords job and cost me approx 500 pounds. As can be seen from photo, the red engine rocker cover paint looks worn, and although the wheels are absolutely straight and un curbed, some of the finish on them isn't showroom perfect, which is simply due to age of car.. Still for it to be in its current condition after so long is testament to how well it has been looked after. The red variants of any Type R are obviously the most collectable and if you compare prices of similar mileage vehicles to this one online people are routinely asking 10k, meaning the current asking price is an absolute bargain. Anyone with the know how to polish engine and re paint the rocker cover etc could probably immediately make a generous return on this vehicle, but would love to see it go to a collector! I'm not willing to budge on the price for reasons stated above so please don't contact for tire kicking and haggling. Except for a hand built stainless steel exhaust pipe, the vehicle is absolutely standard with only genuine parts used for servicing and repairs. Interior is also absolutely immaculate.
