Description

Mark 2 1977 Triumph Stag which I believe to be one of the last 1500 off the production line. Genuine reason for sale, I never thought I would be selling my stag and have always kept the car in the highest level of condition as I intended to keep it long term, the car has been maintained and looked after by EJ Ward (Triumph Stag Specialist) over the last 10 years in my ownership so the new buyer can rest assured it has been properly serviced, and not bodged by a garage or person who doesn't know what they are doing on a Triumph Stag. The car has been kept in a heated garage to help preserve the car which means the bodywork and chrome work is in a very good state, it comes with an indoor cover, and a stand for the hard top to help store it when not on the car. If you want a second opinion on the car please speak to Mick at EJ Ward who knows me and the car well, and he can give you an honest and informed appraisal of the car. The car is in pimento red with a black vinyl interior, it comes with a factory hardtop and mohair soft top. It has electric windows, power steering, and most importantly the original Triump V8 engine with a 4 speed manual overdrive, original alloy wheels and rear seat belts. The car was just serviced in April this year - you will see in the service history it has been maintained regardless of cost - featuring new reconditioned unleaded cyclinder heads from EJ Ward, new timing chains, new header tank and hoses, revotec electric fan, wheel bearings, new steering rack, retrosound stereo, electric car aerial, etc. I know I will never get the money I have spent on this car back, and accept this is part of classic car ownership - this is a good stag you can drive daily, if you want to take it to the next level and make it a concourse level car then you would need to respray the car which I had planned to do in the future. Prior to my ownership there is service history for the car going back to 1994 with Abinger Hammer Motors (Triumph Stag Specialists in Surrey). In addition to the above I have a British Motor Heritage Certificate for the car, and MOT's going back to 1982 which confirm the mileage looks to be correct on the car at 120k. The stag is now registered as a historic vehicle so is exempt from paying road tax, and having an MOT. At this stage I am firm on my price as I will be losing money on selling the car, however if you are serious then please come and see the car in person and I can take you around it. Next MOT due 04/06/2019, Red, 5+ owners, £19,500
