Description

I won't pretend that this is the most exciting car in the world however if you're looking for a very cheap to run, super reliable and surprisingly engaging drive then the Mk 1 Focus is a solid buy! In the three years I've owned it I've not once had to top up the oil between services, which in my ownership have always been carried out regularly. Aside from consumable items (tyres, brake pads etc.) and a single wheel bearing, there are little to no areas that have required attention. I don't want to mislead anyone on the cosmetic side of things so as you can see from the photos there are a couple of scuffs here and there but it is 21 years old after all (and very cheap)! The body is however solid, with no signs of rust or corrosion to be found. The A/C was broken when I purchased the car but after a particularly sticky summer I forked out on a new condenser therefore it now runs ice cold. There are of course some bad bits, as to be expected from a car of this age and price: The brake pads will need replacing soon as they occasionally squeak. The tyres will probably need changing within the next 2k miles and the fuel sender unit seems to stick slightly (when you fill the tank the guage takes a few minutes to catch up). The only unusual problem would be the hose feeding the rear washer bottle seems to have split in the A pillar causing the fluid to leak out before it reaches the window. I just stopped using it and opted to clean the car instead but I imagine it's a cheap fix if you did wish to put it right. Feel free to email if you have any further questions. Next MOT due 14/09/2024, Grey, 2 owners, £995
