Description

The car passed its MOT earlier this week with no outstanding advisories so now has a full year to run. The underside is clean except for the usual surface rust, there is no major body damage, the engine sounds health and pulls very well, it changes gear well and with the exception of a slightly worn drivers seat the interior is in very good condition. 6 garage stamps in the original Service Book up to 39K. Some other receipts including one to 'rectify head gasket fault' in May 2014, this includes evidence of a new cam belt and water pump being fitted. Recent inspection of the timing belt (see photo) suggest it is in good condition and may well have been changed again since 2014.When we bought the TF in December 2021 (at about 50500 miles) we changed the engine oil, oil filter, air filter, antifreeze and gearbox oil. The last oil and filter change was in August 2023 (61800 miles). New front and read brake discs and pads were fitted in July 2022, the brake and clutch fluid was also changed. Two new front tyres were fitted in August 2022, all four Toyo Proxie tyres have loads of tread left. New front lower suspension wishbones were also fitted in August 2022 and very recently the pins and bushes were changed on the front upper suspension arms as these were an advisory on the MOT test certificate. The car handles very well, with tight and precise steering and no evidence of white line tramming or being thrown off course by pot holes / undulations etc. In October 2023 a new alternator was fitted and a couple of months ago a new rear screen was fitted to the soft top. Over the last couple of years some rust on the sill ends has been attended to with bad metal cut out and new metal welded in. We viewed several TFs before purchasing this one and they all had rust bubbles / holes in the sills - this will only get worse if it is ignored. You might be lucky and find a pristine example that has been garaged all of its life but expect to pay a small fortune for it! Next MOT due 23/06/2025, Grey, 3 owners, £3,500
