Description

I have owned this vehicle for 1 year. In that short time, I have spent a considerable amount of money recommissioning the car. It was already in fantastic condition but needed a little attention to detail to bring it up to an excellent standard. FSH with all books and original keys and fobs present. The car was registered in 2002 which is the final year of production for the XJR X308 model. Most enthusiasts would recognise this generation as the last Jaguar to have been heavily influenced by Sir William Lyons original Series 1 XJ design. Being a very late car, it benefits from the latest technology available at that time which was fitted as standard. The XJR's supercharged engine gained a new engine management setup, a 'drive by wire' throttle body and exhaust gas recirculation. The car now featured standard cruise control, auto wipers, heated screen, electric seats, CD changer, electric wheel and column adjustment, power-fold wing mirrors, metallic paint and 818 'Asteroid' alloys. This car was also fitted with heated front seats, satellite navigation and an integrated Motorola telephone which all work faultlessly. I have also upgraded the car with factory cupholders for added comfort. All glass including the windscreen is original. The original headliner has been replaced for new. The rear-view auto dimming mirror has been replaced which is a common fault. The engine has had plenty of work done which includes OEM primary and secondary chain tensioners, guides and chains, seals, crankshaft pulley bolt, water pump, fan belt, air conditioning condenser (new - Nissens) and pump (used), thermostat, a full-service including spark plugs and engine bay detail. The gear box has also been serviced which includes new seals. All 4 wheels have been refurbished and shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres. 4 new OEM centre caps were also fitted. Front sill corners were replaced with handmade British repair panels, sealed and resprayed. Front wings were removed, and inner wings treated for rust as a preventative measure. Inner rear arches were also treated as precautionary measure. The underside, arches and box sections were then treated with Corrolan wax which is transparent and organic. The full process took 2 weeks including cleaning and treatments that were applied prior to the final coat. The car is a stunning original example which turns heads wherever it goes. It also drives beautifully with no faults. Very reluctant sale, new business, mileage will increase slightly. Next MOT due 20/09/2024, Silver, 4 owners, £12,000
