Description

This Elise has been mine for 11 years, but now I have a Honda supercharged conversion so my beloved 2ZZ must go. The original car was a 111R from 2004 - one of the first Toyota engined Elise built. Lotus at that time did not offer a supercharged version so an Eaton supercharger with chargecooler was a sensible solution - along with Nitron/Eibach suspension and various other upgrades. These mods were carried out in 2008/9 and the invoices are available in the detailed file. Sinclair Motorsport (now Essex Autosport) carried out the conversion and called it the Tsukuba supercharged Elise - marketing it to other owners successfully although not many are left! The supercharger smooths the power delivery immensely, so that the need to keep the revs above 5500 which is the bugbear of many a 111R owner is resolved. The chargecooler allows the power to be retained even when the engine gets hot. During my ownership the car has been used mainly for trackdays but it is also comfortable for long trips, with the standard seatbelts having been retained in addition to 4 point Luke harnesses. The standard 111R seats are amazingly comfortable, with balloon type lumbar support. It will also return 30mpg on a run, though a lot less than that on track. I have carried out several modifications to enable hard use on track, without compromising the road performance too much. The Toyota gearbox is not strong enough for the 280bhp and so I have fitted Jubu third and fourth gears, plus a Quaife limited slip diff and Kaaz final drive. The clutch has been uprated to an Exedy 3 paddle racing item, which is a little less forgiving than the standard clutch but fine once you get the hang of it. The car is serviced by me every 3 trackdays or annually if sooner using Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5w-40 oil. Seriously, this car is much quicker than a standard supercharged Elise! Spec also includes: baffled sump, alloy radiator with twin Spal fans uprated anti-roll bar, uprated brake discs (AP Racing) and pads (Carbone Lorraine RC5+) with braided brake lines, K&N air filter with carbon fibre ducting, Odyssey AGM battery, Chris Tullet exhaust system, Hangar 111 sports catalytic converter, Lotus Exige front clam, splitter and wheels, Yokohama AD08R tyres, Lotus GT4 rear spoiler, rear panel delete and extended diffuser, carbon fibre front covers and side pods, Blaupunkt DAB radio. MOT to 1 July 2025 no advisories. Autocheck done. Well known quick car in excellent condition. Next MOT due 01/07/2025, Yellow, 5+ owners, £25,000
