1969 TRIUMPH TR6 ROADSTER Chassis CP269460 Reg. TAY774H Registered UK 25-9-1969. Purchased Bonhams Goodwood Auction July 2018. Original and British registered TR6. Refurbished in 1990 approx. Mileage reading 45211. Recent cylinder head overhall and likely replacement OD gearbox ( estimate 10 years ). Replacement Bosch fuel pump & filter with new tank & sender unit. Replacement HT leads, coil & electronic ignition with original Lucas fuel injection and air filter. Front & rear brakes overhaul (new discs & pads). Gearbox appears to be a relatively recent replacement but OD not engaging. Coolant system refurbished with new pipes & connectors. Steel wire wheels with Vreidstein radial tyres and knock on central hubs (Knock on tool present!). Body condition good (estimate repainted in the last 10 years). Chassis and underbody historically Ziebart treatment and well preserved. Ongoing restoration with parts for a planned future full suspension bushing rebuild with new engine mounts. Shock absorbers are in good condition, but the bushing is now getting tired. CV joints available for transmission refurbishment (slight clunk on transmission take up). The standard exhaust has not been modified. Convertible hood in good working condition, minor split in the rear quarter clear panel and minor repairs to the black fabric roof. Pioneer radio cassette. Fixed seat belts for both seats. Carpets & seats recently removed & cleaned. The TR6 runs well and has been garaged throughout its current ownership. Insurance aprox 120 and zero road tax status. The engine oil, filters and coolant has been serviced in the last 1000 miles. There is ongoing work including sourcing minor electrical faults with the fuel gauge, OD engagement. As part of this work, the tacho and speedometer cables are also available in the spare parts to be included with the sale. The suspension was planned to correct slight toe out of the front wheels. There are further spares accompanying the sale which can be reviewed. The TR6 will suit an enthusiast of the marque who has some mechanical skill to make further improvements to this great classic British car.
