One of the best cars I have ever driven and I am very, very sad to see her go. Purchased partly for fun and partly as an investment for the future (chosen for the bombproof engine, stiff chassis, general usability and looks, of course). Sadly I can't hold onto her long enough to realise any uplift but I hope the next owner does. Mechanically, I have replaced the Vanos solenoids with original spec ones and the MAF sensor with an original spec one within the last 1000 miles. It went to RBM in Hampshire for a general inspection less than 1000 miles ago and they carried out the following work: removal of the clutch delay valve (in a bag in the glovebox and easily reinstalled if required but its removal makes a huge difference to the feel of the clutch) and bleed service, front anti-roll bar D bush replacement, front control arm bush replacement, exhaust down pipe bracket replacement, replacement of engine oil gaskets and rocker cover gaskets, rear suspension top mounts and bump stops, rear shocks done, AC service. Not the cheapest garage bill I've ever had but it made me feel confident in the car for its foreseeable future. MOT'd on 24th July and has lots of service history. My next plan was to refurbish the wheels and I have purchased a second set of the same style which I was going to refurbish and then put on the car - these are available to the buyer of the car first before I put them on eBay. The windscreen rubber trim needs replacing and I ordered one of these that will come with the car. There are a few blemishes on the paintwork that I would want to tidy up in due course but it is very presentable and seems to turn quite a few heads. The sound of the engine (especially in sport mode) is glorious.
