The car only runs on electric but the 1.4 engine acts as a generator when the battery runs out of electric. This unique engineering design runs me over 250 miles per gallon. No ULEZ charge or road tax. The generator is almost silent, you cannot hear it running when it stars up, you do not notice the transition when it kicks in because there is no transition.
