Description
This car was originally constructed by an aircraft engineer using new and refurbished Ford parts in 2000. The car was updated and fitted with a re-built engine in 2020, with only 500 miles driven since. The engine is a re-bored 2.1 Litre Ford Sierra engine connected to a 5 speed manual gear box. It was rebuilt by Merlin Motors in 2020. Other parts include Twin weber 45 DCOE carbs, some specialist forged parts, with Weiseco pistons installed into the re-bored cylinders. This car weighs in at 650kg, but now produces approx. 400BHP per ton; so is extremely quick, and a lot of fun to drive. Although not raced, it could also provide an excellent track day (road legal) car and has the required bucket seats, seatbelts, anchor points required. The bodywork is unmarked, consisting of exposed aluminium and gel coated British Racing Green nose cone and wings. The interior was professionally installed using the manufacturer's parts and mostly Ford dials and switches. The carpets are clean and in good order and the canvas cover hasn't discoloured and remains taut when fitted. The car starts every time on the first turn. The MOT (no advisories) is from May. The previous owner was passionate and fastidious over his maintenance, cleaning and general upkeep of this car, and I have continued in the same vein. However, my health is not what it was, and my good lady wife doesn't really appreciate all that a low down open top sports car has to offer during our retirement years and reluctantly I have agreed to sell it. I have priced the car at 6000, which given the condition of the car, the care it has received over the years and the amount of work recently completed (approx. 4000 on the engine), appears to be fair. I would like the car to go to a similar enthusiast that can enjoy all that this car can offer. Next MOT due 20/05/2025, Green, 5+ owners, £6,000
