A low-mileage and well-kept example of one of the best hot hatches ever made and a guaranteed 'future classic'. I bought Trophy number 295 (out of 500 produced) in November 2020 after deciding to see if the 182 Trophy lived up to the hype. N.B it does! Number 295 had clearly been used to the fullest in a previous life and I purchased it from a Renault service manager that had part-restored the car as a lockdown project. I bought the car based on its low mileage, low owners (I'm the fourth; it's not uncommon for these to have had 10+ keepers) and the long list of important jobs it had just had done, including rebuilding the legendary Sachs dampers, having the heater control unit refurbished, a new steering wheel fitted (they're renowned for peeling; I still have the original in the boot) and having all belts replaced. Plus much more. It was very tidy when I bought it, so the only cosmetic work I've had done is having the fantastic Turini wheels refurbished and new tyres fitted. I've had it serviced each year in my ownership at a specialist Renault dealer (despite only doing a few hundred miles per year) where it's always praised for its condition. In April 2024 it had a Major service as well as a new OEM centre and rear exhaust fitted due to the previous one starting to blow. It had an MOT at the same time with a clean pass. My Trophy has always lived a pampered life in my ownership, usually under a cover on trickle charge and has never been on a track or abused. Due to a lack of time, I've only put around 1500 miles on the car in four years and I'm now reluctantly selling due to buying my first house and can't justify keeping it with such little use.
