Description

Reluctantly selling a very special 987 mk2 w/ full Porsche Warranty & Extensive Porsche History. Every nut and bolt on this car is Porsche OEM parts, maintained/serviced by Porsche ONLY. Not many 987s remain within the Porsche warranty system at this point, but this is one of the rare few. I am the 3rd owner from, new. For those concerned about the "bore-score" issue that plagued the 987 mk1 (and the resulting huge repair bills), this car has the newly redesigned engine that dealt with that issue. You also have full coverage anyway (for extra peace of mind). The Porsche warranty will be transferred to the new owner. For insight into the mk2 upgrades over the mk1....EXTERIOR: More modern bodystyling with deeper bumpers and bigger front inlets, rear lower diffusers, Audi-style daylight running lights, modern Porsche headlights and tail lights (LED style), bigger wheels as standard (18inch staggered - rear alloys are wider than the fronts and dished), car is also running on Continental run-flat tyres with Porsche N-rating INTERIOR: Usual mk2 interior elements, sporty 3 spoke steering wheel with flat bottom, optional-extra silver seatbelts ENGINE: Total redesign of engine in 2009, better cooling to both sides of the engine (mk1 issue), removal of IMS (mk1 issue leading to sudden engine failure), removal of Lokasil cylinders (major mk1 issue leading to bore-score engine failure) & a new bigger exhaust. This mk2 is manual, so you don't have to worry about the large costs involved with PDK gearbox issues. Car comes with both sets of keys, original manuals & service/warranty documents SUMMARY: The mk2 is a reliable head-turning convertible sports car and a great entry into the Porsche brand. The mk2 was made in low numbers due to the production run coinciding with the great recession of 2008-2012, a time when all car manufactuers cut production. It means mk 2 cars are a rare sight on the roads. The model is considered to be one of the best cars Porsche has put out over the last 25 years, basically a perfected version of the 987. I would consider the mk2 a good long term investment too (due to the low production numbers) PAYMENT: I am not really leaning towards PX, but I would be willing to discuss if you have a sporty car (maybe Audi TT, SLK, Z4 etc). Any potential PX deal would need to be 2/3 money (minimum) and the car making up the rest. I'm near Moira and you can text/mail me anytime, but calls after 5.30pm only please. Next MOT due 23/02/2025, Full service history, Grey, 3 owners, £17,850
