Description
Manual Gearbox. This is a 1978 C3, 5.7 V8. Before you come to view this Corvette in person please look at others to understand the price. I searched for quite a while before buying this one a couple of years ago & was surprised at how rusty others were, & this is a restomod, as I've had a lot of upgrades. This was a California car before I bought it in 2022. It's lived its life in the UK in my climate controlled dehumidified garage & only used on dry days. I bought it to do some mechanical upgrades with my teenage son and we fitted the side pipes and headers before he got bored and I sent it to a American car specialist to get a 1963-1982 C2-C3 Corvette Streetgrip Suspension System from Ridetech, & Complete DynaPro / D8-4 Brake System Willwood brake system including master cylinder fitted that I bought from the US. The car cost me 20,000, the suspension & brakes 7,500 for the parts, 3,500 for fitting. The ceramic coated Doug's headers & exhaust system with heat shields that my son & I fitted cost over 3,500. Don't forget shipping, import tax & VAT if price checking this. I've also fitted electric motors to the pop up headlights so that they operate quickly, another 300 give or take. New tyres about 2000 miles ago cost about 700 and the alloy wheels are new as they needed to be a bit bigger in order to fit over the Wilwood brake callipers, for 2,500, they're custom billet aluminium alloys. I've changed fluids, belts & other little bits so it's 40000 that I've put into it, selling as I need the space in the garage for a new hobby. It comes with two sets of T-tops, solid & polycarbonate. The Air conditioning has been converted to modern gas and works, which is rare for C3's. The condition of the car is really great, as you can see from the photos. It has been resprayed at some point in its life, though it was always white. There are some light cracks in the paintwork on the bumpers, which is the cars only real weakness. It runs well and never overheats. The interior seems to be original & in very good condition. I've also photographed behind the access panels to show the very good condition of the birdcage, and the underneath of the car. I've got a tilting car lift & several jacks that I bought just to work on this car so they're available at little cost to the buyer if wanted, &, it's a Manual Gearbox so you can really enjoy the noise from the exhausts, which are baffled, so not obnoxiously loud, but still loud.
