You see a 1999 TD5 110 time capsule, and will never see such a pristine original Defender again. It was only used on sunny days, was garaged and parked during the winter. She had 69,000.00 miles and was in remarkable condition. The day we picked her up, it was raining. The owner told me, "This is the first time she has been driven in the rain". We decided to restore her to as perfect condition as possible We refurbished every original part, with very few replacement parts, which were always OEM Land Rover parts. Amazingly, all the upholstery is original except the driver seat. The entire interior was taken apart, seat frames, nut by nut, and cleaned, polished and brought back to new condition. An expert restoration body shop resprayed the body panels the original Caledonia Blue that required repair with such detail that the rear quarter panel divots were put back in to duplicate the original spot welds. The remaining panels were wet sanded and buffed to a beautiful condition. The attention to detail and skill is a work of art.We installed a "Ministry of Defender A/C system which requires no modifications to the interior. Having A/c for demisters in the winter and A/C in the summer is wonderful. The front seats are also heated for a bit of comfort with the switches on the front of the lower console, so you wouldn't know they are there. The frame is untouched and looks like new. Our crowning achievement was August 2024, 1990's best vehicle at the Helmingham Hall Festival of Classic and Sports Cars. The only thing not original to the car (although I have the original grill) is the Heritage grill, body colour headlight surrounds and galvanised front bumper. This is the way it should have been built without the faded black plastic grill and surrounds. The car is truly perfect inside and out and is like driving a brand new 25 year old Defender.
