Hello and welcome to the listing of my 1997 BMW 840Ci, which I am unfortunately selling due to a change in work circumstances and a lack of time to enjoy such a wonderful car. This particular model is fitted with the M Sport package, which includes M Sport Suspension and the aerodynamics package. I bought it last year from a chap in London who had owned for it several years and he in-turn had purchased it from a close friend who had also owned it for an extensive period of time. Despite having been looked after well from a mechanical stand point (with an extensive service history and pages upon pages of receipts), aesthetically the paint was looking poor due to cracks and lacquer peel. After buying the car, my Dad (a professional mechanic of 35 years and a car restorer) set about repainting the exterior and getting the E31 back to its former glory, including fixing minor corrosion as per the 2023 MOT. After this, the car was professionally detailed and ceramic coated. We also undertook a full and thorough service of car, including changing all fluids (including transmission oil) and filters and fitted 18" M Parallel wheels, meaning it now drives and looks as a good 8 series should. Other subtle modifications include an Alcantara headlining (fitted during previous ownership), an E36 steering wheel (I still have the original four-spoke one should you wish to change back), and a Blaupunkt RCM82 stereo with bluetooth connectivity and DAB. Having covered just over 118k miles, it still feels as tight as a drum mechanically and does not knock, rattle, or squeak at all. In fact, I drove the car from Kent to Yorkshire and back (a round trip of over 600 miles) recently and it didn't put a foot wrong.
