Description

Welcome to the advert for my 2007 Mazda MX5. I bought this car from a friend who had stored it in his garage for several years. The car had a new clutch fitted by a garage, but it had not been adjusted correctly, so it was not as easy to drive as it should have been. I bought it intending to refit the clutch but found on close inspection that it was just a case of adjustment. I bought the car for my wife, who had previously owned and enjoyed several of these little cars; however, in the interim, she suffered a severe motorcycle accident, making driving a manual more challenging. The hope was that this would be a reintroduction to manual cars, but unfortunately, it has proven just a little too much for her, so she is back in an auto, and the Mazda has to go, which is a shame as I have given blood, sweat and tears to get this little car up to scratch mechanically. As the car had been sitting for a while, I noticed the rocker cover gasket was leaking oil. So, I replaced it with a fresh one and, at the same time, cleaned up the engine bay a little, changed the spark plugs, changed the air filter (K&N), changed the oil (liqui moly) and changed the oil filter with a genuine Mazda one, in effect a full service with quality parts. Then, after checking back over the history of bills & receipts, I noticed that two of the springs had been changed by the same garage as the clutch, so I decided to take a close look and, frankly, was not convinced the work was up to a good standard so decided to investigate, this lead to a conversation with MX5 Parts which in turn lead to me completely replacing all four corners with upgraded parts. As you will see from the picture, the car now has Eibach 45mm Sport Springs paired with KYB Monotube shock absorbers, and I also took the opportunity to replace all the rubber gaiters front and back. Now the car looks right, not the 4x4 look you get with the standard NC, and it rides and handles really well. As I had to remove all four wheels, I also took the opportunity to have them professionally refurbished and treated them with a coating of Gtechniq C5 ceramic wheel armour so they would stay nice and clean. The body has no dents or rust and flew through its last MOT. The paint is good but does have a few misalliances scratches, which I hope you can see from the pictures. The hood is in good condition with a little fading but no leaks. Tyres are at worst 50% worn. I have all the bills & receipts to support the work done Next MOT due 01/07/2025, Grey, 5+ owners, £3,350
