Description

2007, VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GTI 2.0 TFSI DSG 5DR PETROL AUTOMATIC, TARTAN SEATS, FINISHED IN REFLEX SILVER. Although this GTI was in very good condition when I acquired it earlier in the year - with a very sizeable file of documents attesting to a thorough service history and maintenance - I have invested a lot of money on the following: new timing belt and water pump kit (less than 3 months old!); new alternator belt; 4 new Bosh coil packs with Bosh platinum sparks; brand new rear tyres to compliment the new front pair; 2 new rear brake discs and pads; new nearside rear caliper; full air conditioning service; full brake fluid service. I have even shampooed the tartan upholstery, which is in excellent condition (and I doubt the rear seats have been used more than a dozen times). The result is that the car runs beautifully, pulls straight and fast and has a fantastic gear box (along with newly added golf-ball shift and leather boot). Although I don't want to attract time-wasters, I would encourage test drives since this is - by a country mile - the smoothest car I have driven. It has the typically throaty GTI engine note but is quiet from within the cab. This is a stock vehicle (although my mechanic suspects it has undergone Stage 1 remap) with none of the nasty modifications inflicted upon many GTIs. The underside of the car is in excellent condition, and the sills are spotless. The bodywork is very good and is rust free, though there are inevitably some scuffs associated with the car's age. On the downside, as seen in the photos, the nearside passenger door has evidently experienced a scrape in a previous life. The position is quite fortunate as it runs in parallel with the sculpting of the carriagework. I am only selling it due to having a job that is now in walking distance, with a likelihood of working from home as a freelancer in the not-too-distant future. Next MOT due 16/12/2024, Silver, 5+ owners, £3,450
