Description

Here for sale is my Cobalt Blue Porsche Cayman (987) 2.7, registered in December 2007 on a '57' plate - the vehicle as pictured wears a personalised registration, which can be included within the sale if desired. I bought my car in April of this year for some summer fun, with the hopes of keeping it for a very long time, however due to a new job (and 120 mile round commute) I have bought a (slightly) more sensible car, so this combined with moving house command me to find a new home for the Cayman. Throughout my time of ownership (and with the help of CavendishPorscha of Long Eaton) I have refreshed the front right suspension and fitted a new starter motor. I have also retrofitted a Sony XAV-AX1000 head unit incorporating Apple CarPlay which can be included or excluded per your request (the original head unit, pictured, which is in good condition can be easily re-fitted to the car prior to sale). In terms of the vehicle's specification, it has blue leather seats which complement the Cobalt Blue exterior superbly and a 5 speed manual gearbox which ensures an engaging drive. The original storage net in the boot is still fitted to the car, and overall the interior is in very good condition. The Cayman runs on its original 17 inch alloys with no marks and due to a smaller rim size than usual, rides surprisingly smoothly, it also benefits from rear parking sensors and cruise control. I have covered around 3000 miles since I bought the car, and with the beautiful 2.7 litre flat-6 right behind my head, those miles have been nothing shy of thrilling! For anyone who has driven a Cayman, this car's driving experience requires no explanation - while being the first Porsche I have owned, it is far from the first I have driven, and versus the modern (992) 911 this car holds its own in the 'fun' department with the sonorous n/a 6 cylinder roar as you row through the gears, not to mention on-road handling second to nothing! This is a great example of a genuine, unmodified, true-to-itself Porsche, open to sensible offers from an enthusiast. It drives very well and is in tidy condition given its age. All electrics work as they should and the engine fires on the button and runs perfectly. Gearbox feels great and there are no signs of wear to the clutch and handbrake systems. I welcome any questions you may have, and thank you for taking the time to read this advert. This car goes with a heavy heart, and I hope somebody can enjoy it the way I have for many years to come. Next MOT due 08/03/2025, Blue, 5+ owners, £12,987
