Description
2006 Lotus Elise S Touring series 2.The ultimate driver's car with the reliability of the Toyota engine and the Bilstein suspension, Lotus handling. The original Elise was designed as 115 BHP, which Lotus knew was all that was required for maximum fun/ultimate road car with its light weight. There are larger-engined Elises, but any fool can drive fast with lots of horsepower; that's not really driving. Elises are not for drag racing but for the twisties. For the full experience, you want a car that you can drive to its limits within your capabilities and have fun. This Lotus will put a massive smile on your face.My car benefits from the option of magnolia leather ProBax seats, which are very comfortable and give great support. Upgraded to the 6-speed 111R gearbox in 2011, which increases the driving experience with all those lovely gear swaps, and is amazingly economical on a run. The Lotus comes with an extensive service history, owner's manual, 2 keys and fobs, the correct Yokohama LTS tyres, and is ready to go. Metallic red with contrasting magnolia leather interior, ProBax seats, central locking, and electric windows. Comes with a shower cover.Retrofitted 6-speed 111R gearbox fitted in 2011 at mileage 29,434.Owned since April 2016, over 8 years, purchased from Paul Matty Sport Cars.Last serviced at Christopher Neil's in August 2022; mileage 32,077.Speedo changed in 2013 at 42,000; it now reads 36,800, so the total is 78,800.Cat C October 2016. I lost the car on a diesel spill on a roundabout and ended up "reversing" into the Armco barrier. The primary damage was to the rear clam, undertray, and exhaust, as well as some damage to the rear wheel and the control arm. I have full photos of the repairs being completed. After the repair, I took the car to Christopher Neil's for a complete check-over and four-wheel alignment, etc., to ensure the car still handled like a Lotus should. The biggest pain is the shade mismatch between the new clam and the rest. It is not noticeable in some lights but stands out in others.Overall, it is a great, usable, and affordable Lotus. It's not a show car, but one to be driven and enjoyed. (It has been shown in many shows, and the rare colour combination, which I think is one of the best combinations, attracts much attention). This Lotus Elise is any real driver's dream and is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner. You won't be disappointed and will have a big smile on your face. Next MOT due 08/04/2025, Red, 5+ owners, £14,000
