Description
This is my beloved MK2, ready to go to someone else who will cherish it as I have. It's had all the right sympathetic work done to help it start and drive wonderfully without losing any MK2 charm. Cosmetically, it's in great condition and the chrome is excellent. There's a couple of mild imperfections in the bodywork but overall it is excellent (I've tried to capture them in the pictures). The car has had the rear picnic tables fitted (by Lord David Steele, when he owned it). The interior is in great condition and all original. I've even got nearly all the Jaguar original toolkit which is worth a lot all on it's own. I've also fitted a restored 1965 radio and new-old-stock single centre speaker (with a discrete Aux cable for your phone). Mechanically, it's had 5 new modern radial tyres and all repairs have been done with Jaguar parts. All brakes and suspension rubber etc. have been replaced. On top of this, there are a couple of approved upgrades I've also made, such as a DynAlternator (an alternator that sits in the dynamo housing) and mappable ignition that hides away in the original Lucas distributor. This means it starts well, pulls like a train and is utterly reliable. The auto box shifts really well, and the power steering is flawless. The front brakes are uprated original Jaguar callipers to help it stop more appropriately for modern driving. Oil pressure and temps are just where they should be. I've also got a huge amount of history with the car (over 1" thick in the folder) and all receipts for the work I've had done. The history makes a fascinating read over the lifetime of the car. If there's any questions you have, please get in touch and I think if you're read this far in to the advert, you are a great person who understands the car and what it is.
