I have had this car for over 11 years and it has been nothing but WONDERFUL ! We have done 21,000 miles together which includes Route Napoleon (France) many times, Stelvio Pass (Italy) which was amazing, Spain, Portugal, Monaco and plenty of The Cotswolds. I only have one regret in owning it, that being I wish I'd have done it sooner ! My wife and I are now retiring to France and as you may know, the process to get vehicle registration in France is a pain and it is with huge regret that the decision is to see this brilliant car move on to a new home. If you are reading this, then I am assuming you know what you are looking for and indeed looking at. Do not be troubled by the number plate - it is private and can come with the car. The original plate was YJ05 KLD - this was probably one of the very last of the 911 996's as very soon after the 997 model was produced. It has just had a Major Service which included a new thermostat and housing, new O2 sensors (both banks) and a new MOT. The IMS has NOT been replaced on this car, however Cheltenham Porsche Specialists check at each MOT and there has never been any indication that there is any wear. The only thing that is not standard is the Media Unit. This was replaced before I got the car with an Alpine IVE-W533BT Media System. Exec summary, is it iPhone friendly, all Bluetooth enabled and the sound quality is great. I am still old school and have a bundle of CDs that I take on my trips - on that basis I can confirm this sounds fabulous over the European mountains with Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Foo Fighters, Oasis and Triumph flooding out of the speakers. It also sounds amazing without the music and just the howl of the exhaust note. The original car had Sat Nav, which it no longer does - however if that is a deal breaker - you are more than welcome to my Tom Tom that sits in the glovebox and has guided me around much of France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. I feel it is probably pointless me listing out technical features that you have certainly already researched. If like me, you hit that age - the MENAPORSCHE - and you are after a trusty new friend to get the spirits and pulse racing - this could be for you.
