Description
The '996' is the fifth generation of the 911 and was introduced to the Porsche 911 line-up in 1997. Superseding the highly popular air-cooled 993. The 996 was revolutionary at its introduction by being the first 'water-cooled' 911. Tighter emmission controls meant Porsche had to evolve it's air-cooled line-up. , The design of the 996 was just as groundbreaking, with a whole new chassis, lower more profiled body, steeper windscreen rake and the now iconic 'Fried Egg' headlamps inspired by 911 GT1 added to the buzz around the launch of this new variation of an icon. , The 996 was available as a Coupe and a Cabriolet in both 2WD and 4WD versions and a Targa in 4WD only. The later 996 C4'S' also combining some design features with the iconic 911 Turbo of the period. This included the same widebody, bumpers, wheel style, brakes and suspension. Something that wouldn't be repeated in the later 997 and beyond model ranges and making the 996 C4S unique. , This 911 (996) C4S is well known to us having supplied it to a number of its former keepers in sequence. The 911 (996) is now regarded as a modern classic, but without the fragility of its air-cooled predecessors. 6 months warranty, Next MOT due 15/04/2025, Full service history, Black Full leather interior, Four wheel-drive, Arctic Silver Metallic, Award Winning Independent Porsche Specialists, £29,995
