Description

Original UK car. Fully matching numbers, original upholstery, heritage certificate. Leak-free Webasto roof. You will buy E Types of this vintage for less, but then spend thousands trying to bring them up to the standard of this one. This is a car to just buy and drive. It starts on the button from hot or cold. The Marque restorer who services it said he seldom drives an E Type as good. This car was a centre fold article for Classic Cars magazine, and pictures of the photoshoot with the professional photographer are contained in this ad. Original magazine comes with the car! It is not a concourse car, but an exceptional driver with no rust or rot.It has been maintained regardless of cost. The rope oil seal was recently replaced with a new one-piece rear oil seal. A lightened and balanced flywheel was installed. Pitt Lane Classic Car restorers did the work, and stated that they had never seen an engine so clean and in such good condition internally. Nonetheless, we replaced big end bearings, main bearings, a complete 3 piece clutch assembly etc while the engine was out. The head was perfect having been previously restored by Rob Beere Racing. Watch the attached video of it in a Jaguar Driving Club day out at Goodwood (I'm Chairman of Area 1 of the JDC) No racing was allowed but enough spirit in the driving to see how well it runs without ever exceeding 4500rpm (My self-imposed red line) The diff was dropped recently to replace the inboard discs, and while at it the diff seals were replaced. The car has had a new radiator and brake servo. It benefits from a 123 distributor, although the original is still available.Oil pressure is exceptional. Even after a long run in the Spanish summer, it ticks over at 30 lbs and whenever at 2000rpm or more it is always over 50lbs however hot. It has just returned from a tour over the Pyrenees where it never missed a beat.It has been waxoyled (Mercasol) for protection, but is garaged with heating and never goes out in the winter. It is serviced every year by Pitt lane, and M.O.T'd. This has just been completed for 2024 and of course flew through the M.O.T. There is a massive ring binder with a full history of this car which can be inspected. Any drive or test of this car for any length is welcome to prove it's mechanical credentials, but no silly offers please, I've priced it at what I believe it is worth. Next MOT due 21/11/2025, Full service history, White, 5+ owners, £49,900
