Description

Spares or repair. Requires one bit of welding (repair panel included) and handbrake work for MOT. Please read full description and look at MOT details online. I first bought this car in 2016 and spent over 1,000 on it, used it for a summer and ever since it has been owned by my father in law. It has been serviced annually, garaged, and driven around weekly (but not very far!) Over the summer the car failed it MOT and my father in law decided he wasn't using it enough to justify it. In a moment of madness I bought it back from him and had it trailered from Cheshire. The MOT failure is on one bit of structural rust on the sill and on the handbrake efficiency. (It also failed on an airbag light but this was a classic MG loose connection under the seat, and I've fixed it). The handbrake is straightforward given some patience. The sill is tricky to shape unless you have a repair panel, which I do, and it's included in the sale. I have recently purchased it from Mike Satur, who's well known amongst the MG community for producing quality parts. It had a cambelt and complete head gasket / water pump, the whole works, when I bought it in 2016. I also changed the coolant pipes, and radiator which are a known weak point. Hood is in very good condition and works well.I'd planned to do all this, smarten it up and keep it but I've realised that the car doesn't fit my garage (20 cm too long) and I have no time at all to anything at the moment because of work. All in all, it's feeling like a less good idea than when I enthusiastically agreed to it.The car has some surface rust in all the usual places and a couple of dents but is otherwise in good condition. The mileage is low and it runs and drives very well indeed. There is a very small oil leak which I traced to the camshaft oil seals several years ago and decided to do nothing about. I've noticed that the door key barrel has obviously failed at some point - as it's missing! You can buy a complete used key / lock / ignition batter set for next to nothing on eBay. There may of course be other issues. It's a 22 year old Rover! Exercise all of the usual caution you would when buying a car of this age. Please look carefully at pictures. Strictly sold as seen. You are welcome to view in Sevenoaks before bidding. There are two electronic key fobs, one doesn't work, I haven't investigated but assume battery. I have some service history with me currently and the rest is being sent down. Next MOT due 13/08/2024, Silver, 5+ owners, £595
