It's time to part ways with my incredibly rare, future classic, top of the line Discovery 2 ES Premium Spec, loaded with features like ACE, dual-zone climate control, heated leather seats, dual electric sunroofs, factory-tinted rear windows, and a Harman Kardon sound system. This car has a full-service history and extensive repair records, including a gearbox rebuild in 2014 and rear airbag replacements a couple of years ago. It has two keys and a fresh 12-month MOT, recently passed with no advisories other than front ball joints needing attention. Like any true Land Rover, it has a couple of minor oil leaks, but that's part of its charm. The sunroof has been fully checkedno leaks, working drain pipes, fairly new seals, and no cracks, all ensured before installing the 750 Apple CarPlay head unit. Over the past year, I've invested heavily, adding 500 of Dynamat soundproofing to the bonnet and front doors, installing new OEM engine and gearbox mounts, replacing the front passenger window regulator, fitting a new VDO fuel pump and fuel filter housing, upgrading to LED headlights and interior LEDs, replacing the rear driver's side hub bearing, rear prop donut mount, rear bump stops, rear anti-roll bar bushes, boost regulator, injector harness and the front prop shaft. I've also overhauled the braking system with new discs, pads, callipers, and rear braided brake lines, added a poly-bushed Watts linkage, skimmed the exhaust manifold with updated studs, installed a heavy-duty Moog steering bar, EGR delete, and changed the transfer case and gearbox oil. The chassis has been recently undersealed and is in excellent condition for its age, with no rot, solid body mounts, and strong rear arms and bump stop areas, though there are some patch welds from past repairs. At 168k miles, there are a few minor things to addressthe front ball joints need replacing, the sump has a slight oil leak, and the handbrake needs tighteningbut overall, this is a well-cared-for Discovery that's ready for its next adventure.
