After reading endless amounts of forums and threads/ comments online about the Abarth Automatic I was 50/50 about purchasing one, however being able to get my hands on a mint low mileage competizione was the deal breaker for me and I took the plunge and brought this car to be my city runner. Once it arrived I was not disappointed! Firstly, the automatic drives super, gearshifts are fine and it goes like a go kart (exactly what I desired). This is the 2nd Abarth I've owned and 3rd I have driven and I must say the competizione is the highest spec for a reason. Due to not finding what I wanted in the UK I imported this vehicle myself from Japan - Number 1 - I was after a competizione automatic Number 2- It had to be grey Number 3- Every car I get from Japan is through a family friend who inspects vehicles before I get and I made sure this was immaculate I've had no issues with the car it's done its job and is an absolute pleasure to drive, I previously owned a Audi S4 Avant and I can say the Abarth has so much more character, is more fun and feels faster and of course is super cheap to run compared. The car came remapped with 3 settings, the Map has been done on the gearbox and on the ECU - It is only activated when sport is on. The gearbox shifts rather smooth and effortlessly. The flappy panels on this vehicle are very reactive and is great fun to use, I've never been a fan of shifting with them however with the Abarth its super effective. I have previously owned an Abarth 500 135hp and an Abarth Essesse 160hp with my previous two I always drove in sports mode 24-7 with this competizione I drive 90% of the time without the sports button engaged. I find it a little too aggressive for my commutes in sport and not needing that extra kick as it is simply super without. Of course, the vehicle has been well maintained, I have taken the vehicle to none other than D C Edgington and sons who are well known specialists in the Midlands. Since my Ownership the car has had 2 services. As it stands I've had no other issues with this vehicle. upon collecting the vehicle from D C Edgington I was told how clean the car was underneath, everything is like brand new (Mainly due to the Japan roads not using salt + culture of maintaining vehicles).
