Description

Introduced in 1994, the Ferrari F355 marked a turning point for the marque. Replacing the 348, it featured a raft of technical and styling advancements that brought Ferrari into a new era. As a 1999 model, this example is an original UK RHD delivered car, first registered in May 1999 by supplying dealer Stratstone of Wilmslow. Finished in the signature colour way of Rosso Corsa over Crema Connolly leather with red piping, black soft top and silver 5-spoke wheels, this 355 F1 Spider is unmistakably ‘Ferrari’. This particular car features the F1 electrohydraulic manual transmission, introduced in 1997, the first of its kind in a road-going Ferrari. Derived directly from Ferrari’s Formula One program, it brought paddle-shift gear changes to the street, offering quicker shifts and a unique, driver-focused experience that foreshadowed the systems in later models like the 360 and F430. Having covered just 17,400 miles the car presents in superb condition throughout, with only minimal wear. The bodywork is maintained with a full front-end PPF covering, with the car having been two-stage paint corrected at the same time as application. An extensive all-Ferrari service history has been maintained and notably the cambelt was last replaced in March 2023, at 16,119 miles, alongside the inner and outer driveshaft boots. In more recent times, a service has just been carried out in February 2025 by HR Owen Ferrari Hatfield, followed by additional works at Ferrari-specialist Bell Sport & Classic. This Ferrari is accompanied by a comprehensive history file containing previous service invoices, MOT history, leather book pack and a 355 F1 sales brochure. A Schedoni tool kit, tyre inflation kit and plug-in torch also accompany the car. A matching Crema tonneau completes the vehicles iconic look. A fast-appreciating modern classic, the 355 F1 is widely regarded as one of the best driving Ferraris of its era, blending analogue feedback with emerging technology. Whether for weekend drives or long-term investment, this Ferrari deserves a place in any serious collection.
