Description

BMW X5 3.0d Sport (E53) | SR05 APO | 2005 (55-plate) | 244,141 miles This is the last of the legendary E53 X5s - built when BMW still over-engineered everything, and it shows. Don't be put off by the mileage: with 215 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, this straight-six diesel pulls like a freight train and still sips fuel like a hatchback (for an SUV). Starts first turn, runs and drives spot on, and devours motorway miles for breakfast. Engine so clean you could eat your lunch off it - regularly maintained, with no warning lights, and the M57 diesel is renowned for outlasting the bodywork. It's quick off the mark (0-60 in just 8.8 seconds) and still smooth at motorway speed, while handling is surprisingly sharp for a car this size, thanks to that iconic BMW chassis. Loaded with all the features you actually want: heated electric leather seats, electric sunroof, twin TV screens in the headrests for kids, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, parking sensors front & rear, and two keys. The boot has big-boot energy - at 645 litres, it swallows a family holiday, bikes, or the weekly shop without breaking a sweat. The deep-gloss black paint looks smart in any light, and the interior is pure mid-2000s BMW: solid, practical, and (in my opinion) has aged better than many newer models. Recent work: No expense spared at the last MOT/service: brand new discs and pads all round, new calipers, fresh pins and bushes, and new wiper blades. Recent seals replaced (the kind of job most sellers ignore). It's just sailed through its MOT, valid until 15 July 2026. Part service history and a stack of old MOTs included. The honest bits: - Rust bubbling at the bottom edge of one door - Tape on left wing mirror - Visible scratch on the back left and right corner bumper - Mark on the rear left back seat - Some very minor scuffs and marks in the interior, including front seats - The plastic on the steering wheel is faded - Age-related scratches and marks around the car Even so, all controls are crisp and everything works as it should; she's not Beauty or the Beast, she's *The* Beautiful Beast. If you want a genuinely tough, well-sorted X5 with proper old-school BMW build, fresh MOT, loads of spec, and all the big-ticket jobs done, this is it. Still looks the business, handles great, runs perfectly, and is ready for work, family life, or just enjoying the drive. HPI clear and priced to sell. Open to sensible offers.
